2011 Best Blog Projects

Although I installed this old door several years ago, it gets the most attention from viewers of my home tour.

I saved this cute door from the dump.  I peeled it off the frozen ground at the salvage store that I love.  I paid $10 for that little gem.  I had to rip the sides a little with my table saw so it would fit my basement door size.  Many people think that it is a pantry door and that's OK but it really leads to my basement.  It has been one thing in my home that gets lots of attention.

I didn't even repaint or distress this door.  I added a new handle recently, that's it.

I hope to post new and inspiring projects in 2012.

I have a similar old, chippy door that I absolutely love. It was actually ON our house when we purchased it, but I've reinstalled it as a accent at the end of the hallway in our new home.

I'd love it if you would share this at Knick of Time Tuesday - the party is still going strong!

Blessings,

Your home is beautiful. I love that door. We want to slowly replace all of our doors in the house with old chippy doors. Maybe some with stained glass. I just realized that you are from CT. So am I! Happy New Year!

I didn't realize that you've only been blogging as long as I have! I always thought that door was on your pantry. I actually think it's cuter knowing it goes to your basement now. I can't beleive you only paid $10 for it!!! You are soooo lucky to have it. I would love to have a cute door like that leading to my basement. Maybe I can be on the lookout for one since you put the idea in my head. Ha! Love all your home projects and can't wait to see what you'll do in the new year! I still plan on trying my hand at one of those cute burlap wreaths too. I saved the email you sent me with the tutorials.

Well, I can see why that door gets so much attention. It's beautiful and you just don't see that type of stuff in just any old home. Love your creativity!

That door is the BEST! Love it. Glad to know it's to your basement. Maybe I could do the same since I don't have a pantry. And I just wanted to let you know that I love your blog.
